Christy/Cobb is located at 2320 Highland Avenue South in Birmingham, Alabama. We have a staff with diverse skills and technical interests. All are engaged in professional and community organizations. Outside consultants often work as a team with members of the firm bringing together the skills and knowledge pertinent to the project.

AWARDS AND PUBLICATIONS

Over the years, Christy/Cobb’s projects have received design awards from  the  American Council of Engineering Companies of Alabama, the Birmingham Historical Society and the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects as well as recognition in national publications. In 1998, the Birmingham Historical Society presented a preservation award to the firm for “creative use and re-use of and for sensitive new construction of The Cahaba Pumping Station.”  The firm’s designs for an excavation bracing system for a rotary car dumper foundation for McDuffies Terminal Plant Expansion in Mobile and the emergency foundation repair of Pearson Hall were recognized in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Alabama’s Engineering Excellence Competition. Articles recognizing the firm have appeared in BUSINESS ALABAMA, ENGINEERING NEWS RECORD, GRADUATING ENGINEER, OLD HOUSE JOURNAL, SOUTHERN LIVING, and CIVIL ENGINEERING NEWS.
