Scope of Service/Project Description: Responsible for the design of deep foundations supporting a parking garage and elevated pedestrian plaza. Several different types of foundations were used including 1300 mm drilled shafts, 450 mm DeWaal piles and conventional steel H-piles with reinforced concrete caps and grade beams. Much of the foundation design was complicated by large seismic overturning moments and numerous underground obstructions. Georgia International Plaza was a part of the construction work performed for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games that were held in Atlanta.

Scope of Service: Design of two paper machine and related foundations. Foundations are to be drilled shafts and driven piles. Basement wall is to consist of secant piles.
Project Description: - The project involved value engineering of a substructure for a building to enclose a new paper machine. The substructure's dimensions are 173'-6" long x 100'-0"wide x 25'-0"deep. The redesign used secant walls to accelerate the construction schedule by approximately 5 months. The building substructure also included randomly spaced drilled shafts to support the superstructure.
